Doug Wood's custom-designed improvisation workshops enable participants to access their imaginations, embrace intuition, and create from a place of freedom and spontaneity.

Utilizing theatre games, sensory exercises and scene work, the workshops are available for schools, colleges, senior citizens, arts organizations, small businesses, and corporations. Length and frequency of workshops vary depending on specific needs and curriculum.

​Doug Wood studied improvisation in London at the Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts and with the late Josephine Forsberg at the Players Workshop at Second City in Chicago where he became a member of the Second City National Touring Company. He joined forces with Cheryl Rhoads to form the comedy duo The Fine Line.
 
The Fine Line appeared at clubs across the country including the Improv and the Comedy Store in LA.  Television appearances include The Merv Griffin Show and The Motown Revue Starring Smokey Robinson, an NBC variety show for which Doug and Cheryl were regulars and staff writers.
 
The comedy duo turned its act into an Equity stage show and had successful runs at Chicago’s Ruth Page , Goodman and Victory Gardens theatres, and the Beverly Hills Playhouse. The Fine Line was nominated for an Emmy award for Best Comedy Special for Cable, and Doug received Outstanding Actor Awards from the Joseph Jefferson Committee and Dramalogue for his performances in Chicago and LA.

Doug’s regional acting includes roles in Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s production of Philadelphia, Here I Come! with John Malkovich, Joan Allen, John Mahoney, Jeff Perry, and Gary Cole; the Jefferson award-winning (Best Ensemble) Midwest premiere of Class Enemy for the Next Theatre Company; and the Midwest premiere of the Pulitzer prize-winning drama, The Shadow Box at Chicago’s Forum Theatre.  ​
